1 TSCP : 30.0/ 36 83.3 2275 2555 83 155 22.2 %
2 Monik : 25.0/ 36 69.4 2289 2432 96 146 11.1 %
3 Storm : 21.5/ 36 59.7 2297 2365 107 112 19.4 %
4 Noonian : 21.0/ 36 58.3 2298 2356 109 78 44.4 %
5 Ozwald : 19.5/ 36 54.2 2300 2330 115 104 19.4 %
6 Zephyr : 19.5/ 36 54.2 2300 2330 115 97 25.0 %
7 LarsenVB : 19.5/ 36 54.2 2300 2330 115 97 25.0 %
8 SnailSCP : 10.0/ 36 27.8 2320 2154 129 93 22.2 %
9 Raffaela : 9.0/ 36 25.0 2322 2132 135 90 22.2 %
10 Golem01 : 5.0/ 36 13.9 2335 2018 237 81 5.6 %

Notes, surprises, and ruminations:
I expected TSCP to finish first, and it did (in a dominating fashion). Golem01 is declared the "most playable" program on earth for beginners. That is not because it finished last in the 1-crown division. Rather, it is because it never crashes and won't be terribly intimidating for chess amateurs. I like all the programs in the contest, including the 'cellar-dwellars'
;-)

12 Crux : 6.0/ 44 13.6 2331 2011 204 71 9.1 %

Notes, surprises, and ruminations:
Crux is given the title of "Crash King" which also cost it a considerable number of points. I expect that the current versions of Crux are far more stable than the version used in the contest. Having a program that crashes all the time included in a contest like this where many games are run unattended is a big hindrance. This old version of Crux really should not have been included. It's inclusion is my fault, and I apologize to the author. Congratulations to Freyr for the nice victory by the narrowest of margins. I think Cilian would have benefitted greatly from its recent recompile. It's a big boost over the GCC version in terms of performance. The new Sjeng versions are massively improved also. I am fairly sure that Sjeng 8.x would leap out of this crowd.

12 LDBlanche : 14.0/ 44 31.8 2310 2178 95 86 31.8 %

Notes, surprises, and ruminations:
I predicted the first and second place entries but the 3 crown division was closely contested like the two crown division. Also, this ExChess version was still 3.14. The new 4.x ExChess is DEFINITELY a 4 crown engine -- maybe even above the centerline in that lofty atmosphere.

14 ZChess : 18.5/ 52 35.6 2307 2204 108 82 13.5 %

Notes, surprises, and ruminations:
I am surprised that Little Goliath won so handily. I really thought that crafty would run away with it, despite not using pondering. However, a 1-3 spanking at the hands of AnMon really ended crafty's chances with 3 rounds to go. Up until that point, crafty was leading.

It's a little ironic that the three programs in a dead tie for last place are also three programs which have had huge upgrades in the recent days.

Look also at the finish of Bringer and Amy! The version of Amy run in this contest was before I got the Intel C++ compiler, so it is probably lacking 20-30 ELO from that cause alone.

Final notes:
Running this contest was an enormous amount of work, but I am very glad of it. I had a huge number of enjoyable hours watching the programs battle. All contestants are worthy competitors, and every program that participated is a testament to the excellence of its author. My great thanks to all who have worked so hard to write chess engines and then had the bodacious spasm of graciousness to release it for free consumption by the public.

Above all, I am a fan.
