Motto Search is a Windows utility for searching source code. I wrote it for my own use while working at Microsoft. I refined the algorithms and user interface for over two years to make it the best utility for searching and understanding a large codebase.

The best way to see what Motto Search can do is to download it (below) and try it out, but here's a list of features to give you an idea.
Purchasing
Motto Search is commercial software. You can try it out by skipping the registration key dialog box, but it will only display the top 10 search results at any given time. To unlock the full version, decide which one you want, below, and click on the appropriate PayPal button. I will e-mail you a registration key within 24 hours of receiving your payment.
Standard Version, $29
The Standard version of Motto Search has everything except the indexing engine. This is suitable for projects that can fit comfortably in your computer's disk cache (generally under 100 MB).

Index Assist Version, $79
The Index Assist ("IA") version of Motto Search will accelerate all searches regardless of project size. This version should be considered necessary for projects over 200 MB.
